We are delighted to feature Prof. Dr. Reem Hamdy A Mohammed in our Personality Spotlight for May. A distinguished graduate of the Kasr Alainy School of Medicine, Cairo University Hospitals, Dr. Reem completed her studies with excellent grades and honors.
Currently, Dr. Reem serves as a Professor of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the Department of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation. Her impressive career includes being the first international advisor of the Royal College of Physicians in London-UK in Egypt and founding the RCP Global in Egypt.
Dr. Reem is a trailblazer, having established the Women in Rheumatology Research and Training Group in 2024. She also co-founded and heads the Rheumatology-Gastroenterology Integrated Clinic at the ICRID Unit (Integrated Clinical and Research Center for Intestinal Disorders) at Kasr Alainy School of Medicine, Cairo University, since 2020.
Her groundbreaking work earned her the distinction of being the first female Egyptian Rheumatology staff member from Cairo University to win the EULAR Best Abstract Travel Bursary in 2011. Dr. Reem is also the first certified trainer to design and lead the “Establishment of the Evidence-Based Strategy in Medical Research and Practice” basic course at the Faculty Leadership Development Center, Cairo University.
As a certified international professional trainer at the Faculty Leadership Development Center, Cairo University, in collaboration with the Management Development Institute of Missouri State University-USA, since 2016, Dr. Reem has been instrumental in training on research ethics, research methodology, and evidence-based medicine.
A prolific author and editor, Dr. Reem serves on the advisory board and as a reviewer for several reputable international medical journals and publishers, with over 50 publications in the field of rheumatology and clinical immunology. She is also an esteemed international speaker in her field.
